Which Bank of Ghana licence do you actually need to receive inward remittances?

Inward international remittance sits with the PSP-Enhanced licence. Terminating inbound international transfers sits with a DEMI. Choosing wrong costs months.

If your product receives money from abroad for payout in Ghana, start with that distinction. A payment service provider and a dedicated electronic money issuer answer different questions for the Bank of Ghana. One is about remittance. The other is about terminating inbound international transfers. Build the product around the licence you can hold, not the other way around.

Corridor operators often design the UK-Ghana rail first and treat the licence as paperwork. That is how payout cost and timeline both slip. Licence pathway, partner structure and settlement have to be designed together.

We advise from Accra. The filing is with the Bank of Ghana. The entity that holds the licence is a Ghana company, with the ordinary market-entry sequence underneath it.

If you are already live on the wrong permission, the work is to diagnose the activity, then redesign the pathway. If you are not yet live, pick the licence before you pick the partners.
